We are currently seeking a Lifeguard to work at Pateley Bridge Leisure and Wellbeing Hub. Active North Yorkshire is seeking a dedicated and responsible Lifeguard to join our team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and visitors, monitoring pool activities, and providing emergency care if necessary. You will also undertake regular cleaning requirements and building safety checks.
A Lifeguard will work within North Yorkshire Council’s Leisure Services team to support, enhance and deliver day‑to‑day operations of the leisure centre. The role involves supervision of customers, ensuring their safety and satisfaction while following North Yorkshire Council’s policies and procedures at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor pool activities and ensure the safety of all swimmers.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations.
- Provide emergency care and first aid as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the facility.
- Assist with pool operations and maintenance.
- RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (essential).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergencies.
- A clean UK driving licence is desirable.
Shifts are varied throughout the week, including mid‑week and weekends. Mid‑week shifts can range from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
