Are you ready to step into a pivotal leadership role where your vision will define the future of the council’s entire technology landscape? As a Lead Technical Architect (Digital), you’ll be responsible for leading the technical design and strategy for Digital Products. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you’ll translate complex business needs into robust technical designs, collaborating with developers, business analysts and service design professionals to bring them to life.
The council is investing in a number of its core solutions such as CRM and Contact Centre as a Service using cloud services in order to support new services.
Your role will include:
- Set technical direction and make enterprise-level decisions on digital technologies
- Translating business problems into technical designs, aligning user needs with objectives
- Build and maintain technical roadmaps, looking ahead for future opportunities or blockers, and ensuring decisions by development teams align with the strategy
- Development of technology strategies that meet business needs
- Technical governance of technology projects
- Lead market research, procurement and delivery of innovative solutions from suppliers
- Provide advice and guidance on Cloud based platforms and their toolsets and features
You will be reporting to the Enterprise Architect within the Technology Service.
Experience / Qualifications:
- In depth understanding of the business and technical issues associated with the analysis, design, development and support of technology applications.
- Knowledge of software and systems development methods
- A deep understanding of modern software development, engineering practices, delivery cycles, and technology processes
- Strong understanding of modern digital technology across areas such as microservices, event driven architectures, AI, hybrid cloud, modern cloud deployment models, DevOps, cybersecurity, and resilience by design.
