‘Nurturing Future Excellence’
Scotton Lingerfield Primary School is a small, friendly village school situated in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside between Scotton, Lingerfield and Farnham.
We are proud of the warm, nurturing and inclusive environment we have created for our children and staff. With around 95 pupils, we have a genuine family feel where children are known as individuals, relationships matter and everyone plays an important part in school life.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed General Teaching Assistant to join our team, working primarily with children in EYFS and Key Stage 1, alongside duties within our Breakfast Club and at lunchtime.
This is a varied role and a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to become an important part of the wider life of a small primary school.
About Scotton Lingerfield
Our vision is Nurturing Future Excellence. We want every child to feel safe, happy and valued while developing the confidence, curiosity and resilience they need to thrive.
Our children learn within a calm and supportive environment where we have high expectations while recognising that every child is unique. Our curriculum is enriched by global, cultural and environmental experiences, and our youngest children benefit from a dedicated EYFS outdoor area and weekly Forest School sessions in our own woodland.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection described Scotton Lingerfield as a “welcoming and friendly school”, recognising that pupils enjoy coming to school and that they are polite and courteous.
About you
We are looking for someone who will share our commitment to providing the very best experiences for our children.
You will:
- have a positive, nurturing, calm and inclusive approach to children and their individual needs;
- be warm, friendly and approachable, helping children to feel safe, happy and confident;
- build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families;
- be an enthusiastic and supportive team player;
- bring energy, creativity and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to school life;
- be reliable, organised and punctual;
- have a good sense of humour and enjoy being part of a close-knit team;
- be willing to contribute to the wider life of our school; and
- be passionate about helping every child to reach their potential.
Applicants should have experience of working within a school environment and hold GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Mathematics.
What we can offer you
Joining Scotton Lingerfield means becoming part of a school where people know and support one another.
We can offer:
- enthusiastic, happy and well-motivated children who are proud of their school;
- the opportunity to build strong relationships with children within a small-school environment;
- a welcoming, caring and committed staff team;
- supportive headteachers and governors who value the contribution of every member of staff;
- a calm, positive and nurturing school ethos;
- a beautiful rural setting with our own woodland and Forest School provision;
- opportunities to contribute to the wider life and development of the school; and
- support and opportunities for your own continuing professional development.
We look forward to welcoming the newest member of our school family.
