Welcome from the Corporate Director of Children and Young People. We are looking for a Specialist Social Worker to support children and families in North Yorkshire. You will be part of a small and committed team focusing on child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing children and contextual safeguarding.

The role involves overseeing and supporting Children and Families staff, collaborating with multi‑agency partners and developing innovative approaches to complex casework. You will have the opportunity to attend a range of bespoke training sessions in child sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, missing children, contextual safeguarding and private fostering, furthering your CPD and sharing learning within the wider workforce.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.
  • Applicants prohibited from working in Regulated Activity under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 must not apply.
  • Applicants must be able to work unsupervised with adults or children at risk.
  • Ability to work relationship‑based, strengths‑focused practice using models such as Signs of Safety, systemic theory and the Family Finding approach.
