Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children? Do you want to be part of a warm, supportive school community nestled in the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire? The Federation of Middleham (VA) and Spennithorne (VC) CE Primary Schools invites you to join our dedicated team where your skills and enthusiasm will help shape the learning journey of our pupils.

About Us

We are a small, friendly federation of church primary schools serving 101 pupils across two sites. Since federating in 2018, we have created a collaborative, nurturing environment where children in Early Years through to Year 6 learn and grow. Our schools are deeply connected to our local communities and churches, supported by North Yorkshire Council’s Senior Education Advisor and the Diocese of Leeds. Our vision is to inspire children to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally, grounded in Christian values and a commitment to inclusion. We pride ourselves on high standards, a positive atmosphere, and a curriculum that challenges and excites every child.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and caring General Teaching Assistant alongside a Midday Supervisory Assistant, primarily supporting pupils in Key Stage 2. This is a vital role that offers the chance to work closely with all our Key Stage 2 children based at Middleham.

  • Hours: GTA 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 08:30 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:30
  • Hours: MSA 2.5 hours Monday to Friday 12:00 – 12:30
  • Contract: Fixed term until August 2027, Term Time Only
  • Location: Across both federation sites, primarily KS2

You will support children both in class and during lunchtime, helping to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. We value your experience and positive attitude, and we are committed to providing any training you need to succeed.

About You

You will be someone who:

  • Has experience working in a school setting and a genuine understanding of child development - academically, socially, and emotionally
  • Believes every child can succeed and holds high expectations for learning and behaviour
  • Is motivated, reliable, and eager to contribute to a vibrant, team-oriented school community
  • Communicates effectively and works proactively both independently and as part of a team
  • Is committed to ongoing professional growth and willing to engage in training and development opportunities

If you share our vision for inclusive education and want to help children thrive in a rural yet dynamic setting, you will be a fantastic fit for our federation.

What We Offer

  • Friendly, enthusiastic children who love to learn
  • A lively, supportive working environment where your contribution truly matters
  • Professional development opportunities tailored to your role and interests
