Create the markings that guide every journey.
At NY Highways, our work is seen on every road, every day. We’re looking for experienced road marking specialists to join our small expert team, playing a vital role in keeping roads safe and clearly navigable for everyone.
We’ve recently obtained a brand new Volvo FL / 42 R' Lining vehicle, so you’ll be working with modern equipment to apply a wide range of markings using both thermoplastic and paint.
The role is specifically working for the County’s Highways Service, so travel as part of the role will only ever be within the County of North Yorkshire, a big benefit if you want to limit work related travel time.
What you’ll be doing:
No two days are the same. You’ll be:
- Applying road markings using thermoplastic and paint systems
- Operating specialist road marking vehicles and equipment
- Setting up safe work zones and traffic management
- Carrying out line removal and maintenance works
- Working across North Yorkshire on a variety of projects
- Supporting winter maintenance and emergency response when needed
Why Join NY Highways?
You’ll be part of a close-knit, hardworking team that takes pride in delivering high-quality work that genuinely makes a difference. Safety, teamwork and doing the job right first time are at the heart of what we do.
What we can offer you:
- Competitive salary with annual pay progression
- Training and development, including specialist plant, safety and highways certifications
- Generous annual leave entitlement of 24 – 29 days plus bank holidays
- Job stability through our partnership with North Yorkshire Council
- Supportive working environment with strong safety and wellbeing culture
- Royal London pension scheme with employer contributions up to 6%
- Access to staff benefits including Vivup, Cycle to Work and Employee Assistance
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in road marking operations and using relevant plant and equipment
- Knowledge of highways safety, environmental and quality requirements
- A full driving and Category CE licence
- Ability to problem‑solve, follow procedures and work safely with initiative
- Strong teamwork, communication and customer‑focused approach
- Flexibility to work outdoors, in all weather, and respond to call‑outs
- Willingness to undertake required training (e.g. Manual Handling, Banksman, Abrasive Wheels, First Aid)
We will not accept applications from agencies and can only consider applications from individuals with right to work within the UK.
NY Highways is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff. We welcome applications from individuals regardless of age, any disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion, or belief.
