Appleby Westward is looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our Saltash, Cornwall store.

The role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining store standards, and supporting daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Warm welcomes: greet customers with a smile, provide excellent service, and go the extra mile for the community.
  • Store standards: ensure everything runs smoothly, keeping the store organised and presentable.
  • Customer satisfaction: use product knowledge, stay updated on promotions, and create eye‑catching displays to delight customers.
  • Transaction accuracy: handle sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash-up at tills, and ensure company monies are secure at all times.
  • Stock management: receive, replenish, and display stock, taking ownership of inventory processes.
  • Cleanliness: maintain a clean and tidy store environment at all times.
  • Legal compliance and food quality: receive full training to ensure product quality and compliance with labelling and allergen regulations.
  • Age‑related sales: comply with Age‑Related Sales regulations and Think 25 guidance.
  • Health and safety: understand and follow all Health and Safety guidelines to protect colleagues and customers.
