A rare opportunity for a sharp, driven lawyer to step into a high-impact in-house role with clear progression toward General Counsel.

The role will suit a commercially-minded lawyer with 4-7 years PQE experience, ideally gained at a top-tier law firm. Secondment or prior in-house experience is strongly preferred.

You will have the gravitas to advise on high-level legal strategy, while also embracing the “all hands on deck” mentality essential in a lean, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise across all legal matters including governance, employment law, regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, and tax
  • Oversee legal aspects of fund launches, investment structuring, and product development
  • Ownership of the firm’s legal and compliance frameworks
  • Support the investment team on deal execution, legal due diligence, and risk oversight
  • Act as a key liaison with external counsel, audit firms, and regulatory bodies
  • Lead legal negotiations on transactional matters, including trading agreements, vendor contracts, and fund documentation
  • Provide timely legal advice to senior management and functional teams across the firm
  • Contribute to the firm’s broader risk management and operational control functions

Who You Are

  • A qualified lawyer with 4-7+ years of experience, ideally split between a top law firm and in-house legal roles within asset management or hedge funds
  • Strong understanding of fund formation, investment advisory regulation, and transactional legal issues
  • Experienced in working with a wide range of financial instruments and hedge fund strategies
  • A strong communicator with the presence to influence senior stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced setting where flexibility, collaboration, and initiative are essential
