ROLE OVERVIEW:
- Providing general legal support for the commodity trading business across the EU
- Ensuring governance and regulatory compliance across the EU regarding gas and power trading activities
- Registering fund entities with various EU gas and electricity transmission system operators, gas storage operators, exchanges, virtual trading hubs and regulatory authorities
- Reviewing/negotiating/drafting a range of agreements including commodity related contracts, trading and financing agreements, NDAs, guarantees, SBLCs
- Seeking advice and interfacing on general fund matters with the firm\'sexternal legal advisers
- Instructing and working with external counsel as required
QUALIFICATIONS&REQUIREMENTS
- UK or EU qualified solicitor
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment
- Good judgment regarding when to elevate issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as negotiation and transactional agreement experience
- Strong desire to work collaboratively with the team
- A high standard of professionalism in all dealings with internal staff and any external partners, clients and regulatory agencies
- Problem solving skills and ability to identify and implement appropriate solutions
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet/exceed deadlines
- Consistent work ethic through hard work, confidence and effort
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organization skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING&EXPERIENCE
- 2-5 years PQE (English law qualified), ideally having trained witha law firm
- Experiencein an established asset management practice or international bank covering legal aspects for a commodity trading desks active in physical gas and electricity trading ISDA and ISDA commodity definitions’ knowledge a plus
- EU language skills a plus
