Are you an experienced Science Technician looking for your next opportunity in a well-resourced secondary school environment?

We are working with a thriving secondary school that is seeking to appoint either one full-time Science Technician or two part-time Science Technicians to support a busy and successful Science Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a recently refurbished school with excellent facilities, modern laboratories and dedicated preparation areas.

About the Role

You will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of the Science Technician role, supporting teaching staff and ensuring practical lessons are prepared and delivered effectively.

The Science Department consists of seven teaching staff and benefits from two dedicated preparation rooms, providing an excellent working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, setting up and clearing away practical experiments.
  • Maintaining equipment and laboratory resources.
  • Managing stock levels and ordering supplies.
  • Ensuring laboratories and preparation areas are safe, organised and compliant.
  • Supporting teachers with practical lesson delivery.
  • Assisting with risk assessments and health & safety procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment and resources.
  • The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and health & safety requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting a busy department.
  • Please Note
  • Applicants must have previous Science Technician experience.
  • Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • The school is looking to appoint as soon as possible.
