Applebough Education is currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in primary schools across West Bromwich. This role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
- Work with small groups to deliver targeted interventions
- Support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and inclusion
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Follow EHCPs and individual support plans
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children and/or pupils with SEN
- Is patient, caring, and committed to supporting children’s development
- Can work effectively as part of a school team
- Has good communication and behaviour-management skills
- Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS
- Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential
