Applebough Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to work within specialist provisions and SEN schools across the Sandwell borough. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a meaningful difference in their education. You will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons and providing a supportive, structured environment that meets the diverse needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet a range of SEN needs
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils with a variety of needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, complex needs)
- Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress effectively
- Implement behaviour management strategies and individual support plans
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Previous experience working within an SEN school setting
- Strong understanding of SEN needs and strategies to support them
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
