Applebough Education is working in partnership with a number of secondary schools to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education Teachers. These opportunities are ideal for teachers who are passionate about promoting health, fitness, teamwork, and positive wellbeing among young people. Roles are available across Key Stages 3 and 4, with some opportunities including GCSE or equivalent Physical Education teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Physical Education lessons in line with the secondary curriculum
- Plan engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of students of varying abilities
- Teach a broad range of sports and physical activities
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
- Maintain a safe learning environment, adhering to health and safety procedures
- Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Support extracurricular activities such as sports clubs and fixtures (where required)
- Work collaboratively with school staff and the wider PE department
Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Physical Education in a secondary school setting
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for PE and sport
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Desirable:
- Experience teaching GCSE / IGCSE Physical Education
