We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a specialist SEN school in Oldbury, supporting children aged 4–11 years. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with pupils with a range of special educational needs, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing in a nurturing and structured environment.
The Role
- Support pupils aged 4–11 with a variety of SEN needs, including complex and additional needs
- Work 1:1, in small groups, and within the wider class team
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Implement individual education plans and behaviour support strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider school team
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working in an SEN school (essential)
- A proactive, flexible and resilient approach
- Strong understanding of a range of SEN needs
- Good behaviour management skills and a calm, patient manner
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
