The Visual Effects team supports and guides all aspects of visual effects from development through final delivery that are part of film and episodic production. The team works closely across all Apple TV teams as well as with our project teams or production partners to ensure a successful and timely delivery.
We are looking for an experienced visual effects team member to support our Apple original content initiative. The role is to assist with supervising productions in the area of visual effects in an executive capacity from pre-production through delivery, as well as advise development and estimation on visual effects logistics.
Responsibilities- Lead a project from early development through prep and production to final delivery with the ability to not over-reach, and step up if needed.
- Assist with script breakdowns for visual effects, schedules, budget estimates and communicate project needs to stakeholders and work with them on solutions.
- Continue to monitor project progress, hire or review proposed hires of Visual Effects crew as necessary and review hot costs and cost reports, communicating any significant changes to all stakeholders.
- Build trust and relationships with productions of all sizes and scope by communicating weekly with project teams under the mentorship of the Senior VFX Team member as well as internal stakeholders.
- Assist with coordinating show visual effects turnovers to Apple for review, and provides specifications for files.
- Review visual effects work for technical notes, culling together all other Apple department notes and advise on VFX related questions.
- Help to procure materials from projects for marketing or other needs.
- Stay current with technical developments, tax credit nuances and policies that affect VFX and craft and maintain relationships with VFX crew and vendors.
- Attend trade shows and technical retreats to research equipment and cutting-edge processes, as well as network with technical industry professionals to stay current.
- Implement all Apple content security policies and assist with content permissions.
- Field questions about Apple and the delivery process, being solution oriented, kind and helpful to project teams and production companies.
- Minimum of 10 years in show-side Visual Effects.
- 1-2 years of Studio or Network Visual Effects experience.
- A deep knowledge of the Visual Effects process from development through final delivery, as well as established relationships with many reputable visual effects facilities domestically and globally.
- A strong background in VFX and the visual effects process for 4K and premium content across a variety of formats (scripted, unscripted, kids, animation, theatrical, etc.) alongside extensive knowledge of the digital filmmaking process, deliverables requirements, cameras, lenses, 4K, Dolby Vision HDR, all the leading and ground breaking specifications being explored by premium content distributors.
- Ability to build trust and relationships with productions of all sizes and scope.
- A detailed understanding of cutting-edge visual effects techniques.
- Knowledge and firsthand experience with Virtual Production techniques a plus.
- Post-Production experience a plus.
- A love for premium content and storytelling with appreciation of the Apple brand and what it stands for.
