You will have the opportunity to join as a core member of a global team of broadcast engineers, designing, building, and supporting the infrastructure, workflows, and facilities underpinning world-class live experiences for Apple Services.

You will be responsible for a combination of traditional and cutting-edge broadcast technologies to power the reliable delivery of live content at the highest standards of quality. This position involves close collaboration with systems engineers, production, operations, and engineering partners to ensure operational excellence across all broadcast systems. You will oversee mission-critical systems to support high-profile live broadcasts. The position requires making quick technical decisions, often working under pressure, implementing innovative solutions to complex broadcast challenges, and taking ownership of systems that directly impact Apple's content delivery. This role demands independent decision-making and the ability to drive complex productions from concept through deployment. The role requires flexible working hours – sometimes working evenings, weekends and/or overnight to support event production and broadcast.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain critical broadcast infrastructure throughout a high profile facility.
  • Provide first and second line technical support of broadcast systems for technical operators and production teams.
  • Technical co-ordination with production partners, including integration of incoming systems.
  • Oversee the configuration, support, operation and training of a wide range of equipment, including system cameras, robotics, production switchers, broadcast control systems, intercoms, large format production audio consoles.
  • Work independently to ensure technical resources are optimally maintained and arrange preventative maintenance.
  • Track and resolve technical issues using internal documentation and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure ongoing reliable technical infrastructure, co-ordinating equipment maintenance and upgrades as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Broadcast or Systems Engineer, Broadcast Guarantee (EIC), or senior-level equivalent.
  • A track record in a leading role driving a modern & high-demand live production environment to industry-leading standards.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to distil technical details in appropriate ways to a range of recipients.
  • Technical expertise in supporting broadcast and event systems, including cameras, vision mixers, multi-viewers, media routers, intercom and large format production audio consoles.
  • Extensive experience with IP-based broadcast networks and software-defined networking architectures.
  • Proficient configuring and troubleshooting broadcast control systems and automation platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of broadcast standards and formats such as SMPTE 2110, Dante, & baseband formats.
  • Detailed knowledge of replay systems, graphics engines, and video processors.
  • Knowledge of streaming protocols, content delivery networks, and OTT platform requirements.
  • Familiarity with post production workflows, NLE's, DAW's, and other production software suites.
  • Knowledge of lighting principles for studio and stage.
  • A deep familiarity with the Apple ecosystem of services and hardware.
  • Demonstrate familiarity working in an A-list artist facing environment.
