We require you to negotiate and structure a portfolio of complex deals related to Apple original content across the U.K and European territories. This includes scripted drama, comedy, documentaries and other factual content, specials, ancillary content, etc.
We need someone who is adept at rigorously analyzing deal structures and can advise on strategy, costs, talent relations and other information relating to the development and production of Apple original content. You will work closely and cross functionally with internal teams in the U.K, U.S, France and Germany, particularly creative, finance, production and legal affairs departments. You will act as a key business liaison between Apple and the creative community for original content (e.g., talent agencies, studios and independent producers). You will draft and negotiate short-form deal memos and term sheets, review long-form agreements for accuracy and coordinate internal fulfillment of contractual commitments. You’ll provide general business counsel in a rapidly changing business and tech environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a business or legal affairs role in a TV/SVOD Business Affairs department, talent agency, or entertainment firm.
- A proven track record of managing the business affairs requirements of multiple projects from development and throughout production.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of negotiating TV / SVOD deals for development, production, key above-the-line talent, and underlying rights.
- Experience of drafting contractual clauses in the TV / SVOD industry.
- A deep understanding of the global content landscape, particularly the SVODs.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication (written and verbal) skills, including the ability to successfully work with a range of personalities and styles.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of how to collaborate closely with senior executives both internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in dealing directly with TV / SVOD guilds or unions including Equity in the U.K and/or SAG in the U.S.
- Having both scripted and unscripted business affairs experience and European (especially France or Germany) deal making experience a bonus.
- A law degree or equivalent qualification.
- Foreign language skills, ideally French and/or German.
