A permanent position for an Assistant Estimator located near Stevenage, Hertfordshire, with a salary range of £35k-£45k plus a competitive package including car allowance and pension.
Company & Project: An established, privately owned and profitable main contractor operating in the Mixed-use, Leisure, MOJ, and Education sectors is currently expanding its estimating team. The successful business is looking for a talented Assistant Estimator to join its pre-contract team in Hertfordshire, focusing on their busy tender pipeline.
Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for assisting with managing the cost plans and pricing of tenders under JCT D&B forms of contract. You will assist with producing BoQs, take-offs, full cost plans, and target cost reporting, with occasional pre-construction surveying duties including deeds of appointment and procurement.
Desirable Experience: 2 years+ of experience with a main contractor or subcontractor as a trainee or assistant estimator, pre-construction surveyor, or cost planner. Use of Conquest software would be advantageous but not essential. Excel knowledge is desirable.
Qualifications & Skills: Degree or HND/HNC in a construction-related subject. Excel or Conquest software experience is preferable.
