Company & Role: Apple Technical Recruitment is proud to partner with an established Multi-Disciplinary Consultancy to appoint a strategic Quantity Surveying Director to head their Cambridgeshire operations. Following a period of sustained profitability and a robust project pipeline for 2026/27, the business is seeking a talented professional to lead their Cambridge office. The successful professional will inherit a high-performing team of 3-4 Quantity Surveyors (predominantly MRICS qualified) and a prestigious portfolio of repeat-business clients across the Real Estate, Commercial and Industrial sectors. As the Office Lead, you will act as the face of the firm in the region, bridging the gap between high-level strategic growth and technical excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities: The successful Director will be responsible for the leadership of the Cambridgeshire office:
- Strategic Leadership: Oversee teams executing the delivery of flagship projects ranging from £20m to £50m, ensuring excellence from initial feasibility through to final handover.
- Team Management: Act as a mentor and leader to a dedicated team, fostering professional development and managing resource allocation.
- Commercial Mastery: Provide expert-level management to teams undertaking cost planning, pre-contract tendering, and contract administration.
- Client Advocacy: Maintain and expand relationships with a "Blue Chip" client base, ensuring the consultancy remains the partner of choice for regional developments.
- Business Growth: Contribute to the senior management board, influencing the strategic direction of the regional office and identifying new market opportunities.
Desirable Experience: Our client is looking for a leader with a proven track record working for a chartered quantity surveying practice or multi-disciplinary consultancy:
- Experience: c10+ years of post-qualification experience within Quantity Surveying.
- Professional Status: MRICS Chartered Surveyor is essential.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and departmental budgets.
- Business Development: A natural ability to maintain professional networks and convert relationships into long-term partnerships.
- Background: Currently operating as an Associate, Associate Director, Director, or Head of QS looking for the autonomy of an Office Lead position.
- Qualifications: BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or Building Surveying. MRICS essential.
