An award-winning Tier 1 Main Contractor with a busy pipeline of work across the region are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join the business working on a new c£200m mixed-use development project in Bedfordshire with the programme of work spanning c4 years in duration. The project features highly complex civil and structural elements, including extensive substructure works.
The Senior Design Manager will be involved in managing the design process from early feasibility and planning stages through to on-site coordination and delivery. This is a unique opportunity to join a truly flagship major project in the local area, at the early stages.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Senior Design Manager will oversee technical compliance and design management, focusing primarily on early feasibility and procurement stages, while also monitoring on-site design coordination and managing the performance of external consultants.
- Acting as the primary liaison between the design team, client, and on-site delivery team.
- Ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Driving an efficient design process aligned with project timelines and commercial targets.
- Supporting innovation in design and construction methodologies.
A process-driven approach, strong technical understanding of construction, and a keen attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Desirable Experience:
Previous Civil or Structural engineering design management experience is essential for this position. Candidates coming from a multi-disciplinary consultancy, a specialist civil/structural business, or a main contracting background will be highly considered.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in the construction industry.

Qualifications & Skills:
