Senior Design Manager

London Full-Time 90000 £ / year No home office possible

A permanent position based in Hertfordshire with a salary of approximately £80k-£85k basic plus a competitive package including car or allowance, health, bonus, pension, etc.

An award-winning Tier 1 Main Contractor is looking to expand their established Design team with a Senior Design Manager to lead a £30m project. The company operates in various sectors including Commercial, Science, Residential, Mixed-Use, Healthcare, Higher Education, and Regeneration.

The Senior Design Manager will take the design lead on the project from early feasibility stages through to on-site coordination.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Take responsibility for technical compliance and design management predominantly at early feasibility and procurement stages.
Monitor on-site design coordination and manage external consultants.
Act as the key point of coordination between the design teams, client, and on-site delivery team.

A process-driven individual with practical construction knowledge and a keen eye for detail is essential for this role.

Desirable Experience:

Extensive experience as a Design Manager, Technical Manager, or Design & Build Manager on complex construction projects over £20m from early planning stages to project completion.
Minimum of 10 years' experience working for an Architectural Practice, Developer, or Main Contractor.
Main Contracting experience is highly advantageous.
Excellent knowledge of construction methodology, Design & Build contracts, planning legislation, and building regulations.
