Vacancy Summary Job Title: Business Development Manager Job Type: Permanent Job Ref: #1152 Location: Essex Start Date: ASAP Salary: c£65k-£70k + car or allowance, healthcare, bonus, pension etc. Company & Project: An award winning Main Contractor operating across Essex are currently looking to grow their locally based team with the addition of a talented Business Development Manager. The business operates across the Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Science and MOD sectors on a regional basis. Our client has an enviable order book already secured for 2025 but they are continuing to pro-active in targeting new business. Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for developing new business from existing clients, revisiting previous clients and looking at future opportunities for work winning. Previous experience in a Business Development Manager role working for a construction business would be ideal to complement this role. However, the business are open to considering candidates from other sectors. As senior position in the business, the successful candidate is expected to work proactively and independently, generating new business and opportunities through their skills and experience. The position also includes line management of a Business Development Assistant. Desirable Experience: * 5-10 years+ UK experience as Business Development Manager. * Extensive experience developing new business and repeat clients. * It would be advantageous to have knowledge of construction management processes and techniques. * Previous roles: Business Development Manager OR Framework Manager OR Business Development Coordinator OR Senior Business Development Manager OR New Business Manager. Qualifications & Skills: BSc, HNC or comparable qualification in a relevant discipline such as Marketing, Business, Sales or from a Construction background.
