A well thought of Main Contractor operating across London is looking to recruit an experienced and effective Quantity Surveyor to complement their Commercial Management team. The opportunity will be to join a team of surveyors on a large c£50m Leisure Centre project. There is a clear pathway for progression with full support for further professional development and training.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management: Oversee daily functions from project inception through to practical completion and final accounts.
- Financial Controls: Manage accurate measurements, valuations, and timely applications for payment.
- Accounting: Lead account reconciliations to ensure financial transparency and project profitability.
- Procurement: Handle the full subcontract lifecycle, including enquiries, tender evaluations, and order placement.
- Contract Administration: Administer works under JCT and NEC frameworks (experience in one or both is highly advantageous).
Desirable Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience (post graduation) as a QS.
- Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts would be advantageous.
- Good negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors would be advantageous.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management/NVQ Level 6 or above, or comparable qualification.
