Apple Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Human Resources Advisor based in Antrim. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a busy Human Resources team, providing high-quality advice and support across a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, attendance management and HR administration.
Key Responsibilities- Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to applicants, employees and managers.
- Represent the HR team at departmental operational meetings and support managers with HR-related activities.
- Support recruitment campaigns by preparing job advertisements, job descriptions and recruitment documentation.
- Participate in shortlisting and interview panels, ensuring recruitment processes comply with Equal Opportunities and Fair Employment legislation.
- Prepare job offers, contracts of employment and complete pre-employment checks.
- Attend sickness absence review meetings and prepare Occupational Health referrals.
- Support disciplinary, grievance and harassment investigations, including preparing documentation and taking meeting notes.
- Produce payroll notifications and maintain accurate HR records using the HR Information System.
- Manage HR email inboxes and respond to employee enquiries.
- Produce reports, process invoices and maintain accurate HR records in line with Data Protection legislation.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide advice on terms and conditions of employment.
- Support HR projects and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification, or be willing to work towards achieving it. Applicants without the qualification will be considered if they can demonstrate a minimum of 4 years' relevant HR experience.
- At least 2 years' HR experience (or 4 years where CIPD Level 3 is not held) in:
- Providing first-line HR advice and support.
- Recruitment and selection processes.
- Producing accurate letters, reports and HR documentation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of computerised office systems.
- A full current driving licence, or access to suitable transport to fulfil the duties of the role.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification.
- Experience using an HR Information System.
- Experience managing employee attendance.
- Knowledge of current employment legislation and HR best practice.
