Apple Recruitment Services are currently seeking a Band 2 Cleaner to work within a residential setting in the Children with Disabilities service.
This is a temporary opportunity for an initial 3-month period, offering the opportunity to work within a residential care environment supporting the day-to-day cleanliness and upkeep of the service.
Duties will include:
- Carrying out general domestic and cleaning duties throughout the residential unit.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across designated areas.
- Cleaning communal areas and other areas as required.
- Following relevant health and safety, infection prevention and control procedures.
- Using cleaning equipment and products safely and appropriately.
- Ensuring cleaning duties are completed to the required standard.
- Reporting any maintenance, health and safety or cleaning issues to the appropriate manager.
- Working in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Carrying out any other duties appropriate to the role as required.
Essential Criteria
- Experience working in a Domestic or Catering role within a work environment.
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety and food hygiene standards.
- The ability to relate to and understand the needs of others.
- The ability to take instruction and work on their own initiative.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work on a rota which may include weekend, bank holiday and evening shifts.
- Willingness to undertake training as directed by management.
- Be willing to complete the required Access NI check.
Desirable Criteria
The following would be advantageous:
- At least 3 months' experience working in a Domestic or Catering role within a work environment; or
- A Basic Food Hygiene qualification or NVQ Level 1 or equivalent; or
- Previous cash handling experience.
