About the Role: An established public sector research organisation is seeking a Research Technician- Assistant Scientific Officer to support the delivery of livestock production research projects within Sustainable Livestock Systems. This is a practical, hands-on role involving both on-site and farm-based work. The successful candidate will contribute to a range of scientific studies, supporting data collection, equipment operation, and livestock-related activities. Please note that occasional overtime, including weekend work on a rota basis, may be required.
Main Duties:
- Support the delivery of scientific tasks across livestock research projects
- Record and manage scientific data accurately
- Operate research and agricultural equipment
- Work directly with livestock in both research and commercial farm environments
- Input and validate data using computerised systems
- Assist in the production of summary data and reports
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Science, Maths and English Language (Grades A*–C)
Other Information:
- Full-time role based primarily in Hillsborough with travel to commercial farms
