An established public sector organisation is seeking a Livestock Science Technician - Assistant Scientific Officer to support research within Sustainable Livestock Systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in animal and grassland studies, contributing to the delivery of high-quality research. This is a hands-on position involving both field and practical work, supporting ongoing scientific projects. Please note that weekend and bank holiday work may be required as part of this role.
Main Duties:
- Assist with animal and grassland studies
- Feed preparation for livestock trials
- Sample collection and preparation
- Monitoring animal behaviour
- Grass growth management and grazing arrangements
- Support other activities relating to livestock and grassland research
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Science, Maths and English Language (Grades A*–C)
- At least 6 months’ experience working with livestock
Other Information:
- Full-time role based in Hillsborough
- Opportunity to gain experience within a scientific research environment
- Hands-on role combining practical and research-based duties
- Immediate start available (subject to clearance)
