An established public sector organisation is seeking a Livestock Science Technician - Assistant Scientific Officer to support research within Sustainable Livestock Systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in animal and grassland studies, contributing to the delivery of high-quality research. This is a hands-on position involving both field and practical work, supporting ongoing scientific projects. Please note that weekend and bank holiday work may be required as part of this role.

Main Duties:

  • Assist with animal and grassland studies
  • Feed preparation for livestock trials
  • Sample collection and preparation
  • Monitoring animal behaviour
  • Grass growth management and grazing arrangements
  • Support other activities relating to livestock and grassland research

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Science, Maths and English Language (Grades A*–C)
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with livestock

  • Full-time role based in Hillsborough
  • Opportunity to gain experience within a scientific research environment
  • Hands-on role combining practical and research-based duties
