The predicted salary is between 32000 - 40000 £ per year.

Location: Based at Mossley Mill, with travel across Antrim & Newtownabbey Council areas

Hours: Full Time, 37 hours per week

Duration: Temporary

Salary: £16.37 per hour. Plus 10% Flexibility Allowance £18.01 p/hr

On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Service are recruiting Enforcement Officers to support the Environmental Health team within the Sustainability department.

Main Duties Include:

  • Enforcing legislation related to:
  • Dog licensing and control
  • Litter, graffiti, and fly-tipping
  • Tobacco control
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Animal welfare
  • Issuing fixed penalty notices and preparing case files
  • Handling public enquiries and complaints
  • Conducting patrols and community education activities
  • Supporting legal proceedings and attending court when required
  • Key Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English (or 1+ year relevant experience as a substitute)
    • Experience in enforcement, public engagement, or preparation of reports
    • Confident communicator with strong IT skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
    • Full UK driving licence or suitable alternative due to disability
    • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and shift work

    Desirable:

    • Experience working with dogs or in animal welfare
    • Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g. Clean Neighbourhood and Environment Act, Dogs Order)
    • Experience giving evidence in court

    Shift Information:

    The role operates on a 4-week rolling rota, covering early mornings, evenings, and one Saturday in every four. Flexibility is essential, and appropriate PPE including uniform, body armour, and personal CCTV will be provided.
