This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy Procurement and Logistics team, providing an essential materials management service across a hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Scan or record stock levels within wards and departments and input information into the relevant materials management system.
- Identify items requiring re-ordering and liaise with ward and departmental staff as appropriate.
- Deliver goods to wards and departments and put stock away in agreed storage locations.
- Remove packaging from delivered goods and return waste packaging to designated collection points.
- Ensure stock is correctly rotated using the appropriate materials management system.
- Receive deliveries in accordance with established procedures.
- Receive, check and issue local stock and non-stock deliveries.
- Liaise with ward and departmental staff regarding stock levels, usage trends, planned requirements and delivery arrangements.
- Respond to queries regarding the quality and supply of goods.
- Use technology such as barcode scanners, computers and other equipment to support materials management processes.
- Develop familiarity with the products and supplies used by wards and departments.
- Ensure supplies are stored according to agreed customer requirements.
- Operate the Trust's stock topping-up system as required.
- Carry out general stores duties, including good housekeeping and assisting with inventory checks.
- Operate materials handling equipment as required.
- Ensure the security and careful handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Provide cover to other on-site stores when required.
- Work flexibly to meet the requirements of the service.
- Comply with all relevant health and safety policies and procedures.
