About the Role: On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are currently recruiting for a GIS Technician to join a busy Place Shaping and Regeneration team based at Marlborough House. The successful candidate will provide GIS and cartographic support services to assist with regeneration and land management projects, supporting the delivery of mapping, data capture, and geographic information services across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce lease maps, vesting maps, redevelopment maps, Board maps, and flat/house sales maps
- Carry out site surveys for land and property acquisition/sale
- Edit and update the NIHE digital land terrier system
- Maintain and update NIHE grounds maintenance geographic data
- Produce maps and geographic data for internal departments and external consultants
- Support Land Asset Management through the provision of digital mapping systems
- Assist with Land Asset Site Identification studies and Undeveloped Land Schedules
- Maintain paper-based archives of OSNI maps and NIHE land terrier maps
- Adhere to organisational policies including GDPR, Data Protection, FoI, Equality, and Health & Safety requirements
- Participate in working groups, committees, and other internal forums as required
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the grade of the post
Essential Criteria:
- BTEC Higher or equivalent qualification plus 1 year’s relevant experience OR
- BTEC National or equivalent qualification plus 2 years’ relevant experience OR
- 3 years’ relevant experience where qualification requirements are not met
- Relevant experience in all of the following areas: Utilising GIS desktop software, preferably ArcMap 10; Using GIS for data capture including digitising and editing
- Possess a current driving licence or have access to transport to meet the requirements of the post
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience within GIS, regeneration, mapping, or land management environments
- Experience working with cartographic services and geographic data systems
- Knowledge of digital mapping systems and land asset management
Additional Information:
- Full-time temporary assignment
- Basic Access NI clearance required prior to appointment
- 23 days annual leave plus 12 public holidays (pro rata where applicable)
