Working Pattern: Two shift patterns available: 5 days out of 7, including every other weekend, working on a rota basis between 7:30am – 8:00pm Monday to Friday, working on a rota basis between 7:30am – 8:00pm.
Apple Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for 2 Catering Supervisors to join their Catering Department based at Craigavon Area Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced catering professional to supervise the delivery of a high-quality catering service within a busy healthcare environment, ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene and customer service are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team within one or more catering service areas, including the dining room, coffee bar and patient meal service.
- Audit, monitor and maintain acceptable standards of catering services, implementing action plans where required.
- Ensure compliance with dietary requirements and allergen legislation.
- Assist with the planning and supervision of staff work schedules and rotas.
- Ensure HACCP procedures are followed, with accurate completion and monitoring of documentation.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, portion control and service.
- Promote and maintain excellent personal hygiene and food hygiene standards across the team.
- Report food quality issues, equipment faults, accidents, incidents and pest sightings promptly.
- Ensure the correct and economical use of food provisions, consumables and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, Food Safety Regulations, Environmental Cleanliness, Waste Management procedures and the correct use of protective clothing.
- Complete dining room audits and implement improvements where required.
- Contribute ideas for staff menus and new product development.
- Participate in the induction, training and development of catering staff.
- Assist with duty rota planning and organising staff cover to maximise resources.
- Respond to telephone enquiries and take appropriate action.
- Undertake cash handling duties when required.
- Assist in the management and recording of staff discipline, grievances and sickness absence.
- Participate in the handling of complaints in line with Trust policy.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Ward Managers and Heads of Department.
- Attend all mandatory and role-specific training as required.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a customer/patient service role in either a Healthcare environment or the Hospitality Industry.
- Willingness to undergo appropriate training, including Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criterion will be waived where an applicant's disability prohibits driving but they have access to suitable alternative transport to carry out the duties of the post.
- Flexible with regard to working arrangements to meet the demands of the post, including working weekends and evenings as part of a rota.
