A new role is available as a Catering Assistant Stores Person at Causeway Hospital, 26 hours each week, 7am-3pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday. This is a temporary contract to cover sickness absence until 31st August 2026, with the possibility of extension if required.
JOB SUMMARY: The post holder will assist in the provision of Domestic Services in the customer/patient focused environment of the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. The postholder will work to ensure that services delivered promote a professional public image to service users and other staff and that Environmental Cleanliness is delivered in accordance with national and local guidelines and protocols. Maintaining their work area to a high level of cleanliness and adhering to all policies and procedures.
KEY RESULT AREAS / MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure procedures are followed with regard to Environmental Cleanliness in line with Infection Control including the use of PPE as required.
- Observe safe working methods in relation to equipment, cleanliness and cleaning materials (COSHH).
- Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations, Colour Coding Guidance and ensure standards are maintained.
- Deliver all stores needed for pantries, stock A&E fridge and check dates on food, deliver fruit to NIAS, put away all food delivery and take HACCP of high-risk food and record it in HACCP file.
- Deep clean freezer & chill room.
- Put store deliveries away and take HACCP of high-risk food and record it in HACCP file.
- Deep clean veg store.
- Wash the lift door and floor.
- Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Domestic Services Supervisor and/or Catering & Domestic Services Manager.
- Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene is maintained and the Uniform Policy is adhered to at all times.
- Undertake any training courses including in-house and off the job training as deemed necessary to the post.
- Report defective equipment/work and floor surfaces to the appropriate line manager.
- Work in accordance with duty rotas and work schedules.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade, as assigned from time to time, to ensure the smooth running of the Department.
- Report any pest control problems to Domestic Services Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA SECTION 1: The following are ESSENTIAL criteria which will initially be measured at shortlisting stage although may also be further explored during the interview/selection stage. - Experience: 6 months experience in a Catering setting.
- Qualifications/Registration: Willingness to complete all in-house training and Food Safety if the role requires.
