Apple Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Quantity Surveyor based in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of building maintenance, investment programmes and minor works projects, ensuring value for money and effective commercial management across a range of contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional Quantity Surveying service across building maintenance and investment projects.
- Assist in the management of measured term, term service and minor works contracts.
- Prepare specifications, bills of quantities, schedules of rates and tender documentation.
- Evaluate tenders and quotations and assist with the procurement of contracts.
- Administer contracts, ensuring effective commercial management and value for money.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and expenditure.
- Authorise works instructions, variations and invoices within delegated approval levels.
- Provide technical advice and support to management and colleagues.
- Support contract performance monitoring, risk management and compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure information is recorded on relevant IT systems.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to support project delivery.
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality services in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- A Degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in a Building/Construction related discipline plus at least 1 year's relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function.
- OR A BTEC Higher (or equivalent Level 5 qualification) in a Building/Construction related discipline plus at least 2 years' relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function.
- OR Demonstrate equivalent continuing professional development/experiential learning and at least 3 years' relevant experience working within a Building/Construction function.
