The Role

As Projects & Compliance Officer, you'll support the successful delivery of strategic projects while helping to ensure the organisation maintains high standards of compliance, governance, and risk management. Working within the Business Planning Team, you'll coordinate project activities, monitor compliance obligations, support internal audits, maintain governance records, and contribute to the development of innovative digital solutions that enhance business performance. This is a varied role that offers exposure to project management, corporate governance, compliance, risk management, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination
    • Support the delivery of strategic projects across the organisation, ensuring objectives are achieved within agreed timescales and budgets
    • Maintain project plans, actions logs, trackers, and progress reports
    • Apply project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall where appropriate
    • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and monitor action completion
    • Produce project dashboards and management reporting
    • Prepare business cases, reports, presentations, and briefing papers for senior stakeholders
    • Support strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Compliance & Governance
    • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the organisation
    • Maintain compliance obligation registers and governance records
    • Support internal audit programmes, including evidence gathering and action tracking
    • Coordinate policy reviews and governance reporting activities
    • Assist in maintaining risk registers and compliance monitoring frameworks
    • Support governance training administration and reporting requirements
  • Systems & Technology
    • Utilise Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
    • Support the development and implementation of Microsoft Power Apps solutions
    • Use AI and digital technologies to improve reporting, compliance monitoring, and project delivery processes
    • Contribute to wider business improvement and digital transformation initiatives

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant professional experience within compliance and/or project delivery/management
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in project coordination, compliance, governance, risk, regulatory affairs, or a similar role
  • Experience managing documentation, records, and reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Experience supporting internal audits, evidence gathering, or compliance assurance activities
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident using Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Ability to analyse data accurately and produce clear management reports
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
  • Professional, collaborative, and able to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
