Apple Recruitment are currently recruiting for 3 x Medical Laboratory Assistants (Band 3) on behalf of a healthcare organisation based in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with relevant laboratory experience or a science-based qualification to join a busy laboratory environment and support the delivery of an efficient and comprehensive service.

Assist with laboratory data processing and the distribution of laboratory reports.

Prepare specimens for analysis and load samples onto analysers and instruments following appropriate training.

Carry out routine laboratory tasks and prepare solutions/reagents where required.

Maintain appropriate stock levels of laboratory consumables.

Handle and dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with departmental procedures.

Communicate effectively with laboratory colleagues and service users.

Adhere to all relevant Health & Safety and Infection Prevention and Control procedures.

Work as part of a team and assist with the training of new or rotating staff.

2 GCSEs (Grades A–C) including Maths and English, or equivalent, plus 2 years’ relevant laboratory experience; 4 GCSEs (Grades A–C) including Maths and English, or equivalent, plus 1 year’s relevant laboratory experience; A Science A Level (Grades A–E) or equivalent qualification in a science-related subject.

Applicants must also have the ability to work as required across a 24-hour service, including extended hours, overnight, weekends and bank/public holidays.

GCSE Science subjects.

Basic computer experience and typing skills.
