Domestic Energy Solutions Supervisor
Salary: £45,000 per annum + Bonus + Company Van & Fuel Card
Apple Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Domestic Energy
Solutions Supervisor to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced heating, building services or energy professional to
play a key role in delivering low-carbon heating and energy efficiency solutions to homeowners
across Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will oversee projects from initial customer enquiry
through to installation completion, ensuring the highest standards of customer service, technical
excellence and quality delivery.
Please note: This is a fully office and field-based role. There is no opportunity for home working or
hybrid working, and applicants must be willing to work on-site and travel as required.
The Role
The Domestic Energy Solutions Supervisor will manage the complete customer journey for
homeowners undertaking low-carbon heating and energy efficiency improvements.
Acting as the primary point of contact throughout the process, you will carry out property surveys,
design tailored solutions, prepare quotations, coordinate installations and supervise delivery teams
and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Property Surveys & Technical Assessments
- Undertake detailed surveys of domestic properties.
- Gather and record technical data, measurements and property information.
- Assess suitability for low-carbon heating and energy efficiency improvements.
- Identify technical, operational and customer-related risks and develop appropriate solutions.
- Solution Design & Quotation Preparation
o Develop tailored recommendations based on survey findings.
o Prepare quotations, specifications and scopes of work.
o Present and explain proposed solutions clearly to homeowners.
o Support customers through the decision-making process.
- Project Planning & Coordination
o Manage projects from approval through to completion.
o Coordinate resources, schedules and installation activities.
o Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timescales.
- Installation Oversight & Quality Assurance
o Provide technical support and supervision to engineers and contractors.
o Monitor installation quality and compliance with industry standards and best practice.
o Carry out post-installation inspections.
o Resolve defects, issues or customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Contractor & Supplier Management
o Monitor contractor performance, productivity and workmanship.
o Ensure compliance with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
o Maintain effective working relationships with contractors and delivery partners.
- Customer Experience
o Deliver an excellent customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
o Respond to customer queries, complaints and concerns in a professional manner.
o Build positive and lasting customer relationships.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement
o Maintain accurate survey, quotation and project records.
o Prepare management reports as required.
o Identify opportunities to increase the uptake of low-carbon and energy efficiency solutions.
o Keep up to date with industry developments, technologies, regulations and funding opportunities.
The Person. You will need:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) in Plumbing & Heating, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in:
- Surveying domestic properties.
- Installing domestic heating systems and energy efficiency measures.
- Preparing technical quotations and specifications.
- Supervising engineers and contractors.
- Dealing directly with homeowners.
- Strong technical understanding of domestic heating systems and building fabric.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
- Strong planning, organisational and project management skills.
- Ability to lead installation teams and monitor quality standards.
- Good commercial awareness and experience preparing accurate quotations.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
Desirable Criteria but not essential:
- Experience within the domestic renewables sector.
- Heat Pump Association or MCS-related training.
- Project Management qualification.
- Health & Safety qualification.
- Knowledge of low-carbon heating systems, solar PV and smart controls.
- Understanding of SAP, EPCs and domestic energy assessments.

Hours of Work
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37 hours per week:
Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am to 4:30pm
Flexibility may be required to meet business and customer requirements.
