About the Role
This role will support the Financial Reporting Team and involves financial reporting, VAT compliance, fixed asset management, audit support, staff management, and ensuring robust financial governance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Annual Reports and Accounts in accordance with HM Treasury and Department of Finance guidance, incorporating IFRS
- Dealing with internal and external auditors including the Northern Ireland Audit Office
- Compliance with VAT reporting
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register for the organisation
- Analysis of financial data
- Production of monthly and/or quarterly management accounting information
- Providing advice and guidance on the use and interpretation of financial information, accounting requirements, and best practice
- Drafting and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls
- Management of the financial processing function
- Management of staff and other resources
- Lead, manage, and motivate staff to ensure continuous improvement of services
- Ensure effective staff management including absence and performance management
- Promote good governance across the organisation
- Carrying out additional duties as required by management
Essential Criteria:
- Successfully passed the final professional examinations and be a full, current member of one of the following professional bodies:
- Chartered Accountants Ireland
- Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland
- Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
- Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
- Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
- Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland
- Financial planning and budgeting OR
- Financial Management / Management Accounting OR
- Financial Accounting / Auditing OR
- Development / Implementation of Financial Systems OR
- Strategic planning and decision support in a finance or regulatory environment
