Location: Holywell Hospital Site, Antrim

Duration: Temporary, initially 1 month

Salary: Band 2

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:15am – 4:15pm

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver to join a busy Transport Department, providing an essential delivery and collection service between hospitals and community facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport and deliver pharmacy items, office furniture, equipment, mail and other items between hospitals and community facilities.
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries as required.
  • Ensure items are transported safely and efficiently.
  • Complete relevant vehicle and journey records, including mileage, fuel usage, loading and other required information.
  • Carry out routine vehicle checks and minor running maintenance, including checking and topping up fuel, oil and water.
  • Check tyre condition and pressure and report any issues as required.
  • Keep vehicles clean and in a suitable condition for use.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety, driving and Trust procedures.
  • Complete the Trust driving test using a suitable Trust vehicle.

Essential Criteria

  • A full current unrestricted Category B driving licence valid for use in the UK and be out of R plates.
  • Access to a car on appointment.
  • Experience of multi-drop deliveries.
  • The ability to successfully complete a Trust Driving Test.

The requirement to hold a driving licence and have access to a car may be waived where an applicant's disability prohibits driving, provided they have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust which will enable them to carry out the duties of the post.
