About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Clerical Officer (Band 2) to join a busy administrative team within a public sector organisation. This is a full-time temporary opportunity, providing administrative support and assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the service. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of clerical duties including managing information, responding to enquiries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting colleagues across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding efficiently to queries via telephone, webchat, and email
  • Completing data entry across various systems, ensuring records and databases are kept accurate and up to date
  • Managing confidential documentation, including scanning, filing, and organising sensitive information in line with procedures
  • Providing general administrative support including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and assisting with team activities
  • Applying discretion and judgement when resolving routine issues within agreed guidelines
  • Following organisational policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Essential Criteria

  • Previous administrative/clerical experience (1–5 years)
  • Intermediate IT skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office packages
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
