This contractor role will oversee the editorial programming and publication of new puzzles content available to Apple News users in the UK and Australia.

Key qualifications

  • Demonstrated mastery editing and constructing crossword puzzles and other word games, specifically for audiences in the UK and Australia.
  • Experience managing a crossword or other puzzle program either at a media company or independently.
  • Strong editorial judgment and creativity, with an understanding of the larger news cycle.
  • Experience working within a variety of web CMSs preferred.

Description

  • Oversee a puzzles content program for Apple News in the UK and in Australia with a unique, localized voice that will connect with our audiences in each location.
  • Work cross-functionally with Apple News editorial, engineering, design, and product teams in the US, UK and Australia to align programming content plans both locally and globally, agree on standards of content, and conform to house style.
  • Manage daily publication calendar, including curation and notifications.
  • Surface bugs and other performance issues.
  • Work with external content partners to sync programming agenda and provide ongoing editorial feedback.
  • Never stop iterating.
  • Use a variety of data and analytics to optimize for product KPIs.
