A supportive and community-focused junior school in Salisbury seeks a full‑time HLTA to join from September for the full academic year. Responsibilities
- Support the smooth running of the school day, stepping into lessons when needed, working with pupils across different year groups and supporting those who may need additional help.
- Lead and supervise classes in the absence of the class teacher.
- Deliver lessons across a range of subjects within Key Stage 2.
- Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
- Support pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional needs.
- Assist with the preparation of learning resources.
- Monitor pupil progress and behaviour, feeding back to teachers and senior leaders.
- Support assessment and tracking of pupil attainment.
Qualifications
- Hold HLTA status or an equivalent qualification.
- Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA.
- Be confident leading a class independently.
- Have strong classroom‑management skills.
- Communicate clearly and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain one).
- Have the right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or complex needs.
- Knowledge of phonics or intervention programmes.
- Experience covering lessons across different year groups.
- Familiarity with assessment or tracking systems.
