- Product Designer - Apple Services Design, International
Apple’s International Human Interface Design team is seeking an exceptional Product Designer to join our London studio.
We operate as an internal consulting team within the Design organisation, bringing an international point of view to the entire ecosystem.
Instead of owning a single product or roadmap, we partner with teams throughout the company to make sure Apple’s products feel designed for everyone — regardless of their location, language, or script.
We’re looking for someone energised by moving between projects, earning the trust of partners, and revealing new opportunities in familiar problems.
Description
For the right person, the shift from ownership to influence is one of the most energising moves you can make as a Product Designer.
As this opportunity is a consulting role, (not a product-ownership role), you trade depth on a single product, for great breadth across Apple’s products and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Your engagements will range from a one-off critique to multi-year partnerships, helping shape product decisions across the company.
- Success means getting up to speed quickly, convincing partners to act, and knowing when to lead, when to advise, and when to step back and let the product owner drive.
- You will also have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, providing your cultural and language expertise throughout Apple’s software and services.
From typographic systems to input methods, to local expectations that shape how a product is used.
- Your responsibility is to ensure international excellence is designed in from the start, not retrofitted after the fact.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience in a senior product design role, with a focus on software design across a range of platforms.
- A proven track record as the lead designer on complex projects, from problem definition through to development and release.
- An online portfolio demonstrating the quality and scope of your work.
- An exceptional eye for detail, creative problem solving, and fluency in modern software design patterns and tools.
- The ability to clearly communicate ideas through sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity comps, and interactive prototypes.
- Comfort operating without a fixed roadmap or long-term product ownership, and with context-switching between multiple concurrent projects.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for an iterative design process, driven by collaborative group critique.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to influence partner teams and confidently present to large groups and executives.
- Empathy and advocacy for the international user experience when collaborating with engineering, marketing, and business teams.
- Hands-on familiarity with emerging AI and LLM-based tools, whether code-based or generative, to accelerate prototyping and exploration.
- A passion for Apple, its products, and its customers worldwide.
- Preferred Qualifications
- In addition to English, fluency in a second language - particularly one relevant to markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, or Latin America, is ideal.
- You have an affinity for consistency, colour use, and typography, along with a sensitivity to subtle details.
- While setting a high bar for aesthetics, you’re able to grasp and distill highly complex issues and translate them into clean, focused, understandable solutions.
- You bring composure under pressure and the ability to articulate design intent under tight deadlines.
