Company: An award winning Main Contractor operating in the Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Leisure & Retail sectors, are seeking to recruit an experienced and effective Commercial Assistant to join their team in Norwich. Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for the coordination of information within the commercial team.
- Checking and formatting documents alongside organisational tasks.
- This role involves good communication and working closely with the Commercial team.
- Assist quantity surveyors by collecting project drawings and specs to send to subcontractors and suppliers when looking for quotes.
- Help prepare purchase orders, and standard subcontractor agreements.
- Review monthly invoices and payment requests from subcontractors.
- Keep subcontractor records updated: Check and file essential subcontractor paperwork, like insurance certificates and safety compliance.
- Assist with monthly cost reports: Gather cost and income data to help Quantity Surveyors. Minimum of 2 years+ experience as an Administrator, preferably in a Construction environment, but candidates with no prior construction industry experience will be considered if previous work in a related field.
- Experience using Microsoft Package.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write detailed and structured documents.
- Previous roles: Commercial Administrator OR Contract Administrator OR Coordinator OR Contract Coordinator OR Construction Administrator OR Site Administrator OR Assistant QS OR Commercial Coordinator.
Qualifications & Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project packages. 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A to C), or equivalent qualifications, including English and Maths From time to time this position will require efficient travel to construction sites or other offices in East Anglia is required by commercial deadlines. A full UK driving licence is preferred, but alternative travel arrangements will be considered where appropriate.
Salary: c 30k- 35k basic salary (DOE) plus competitive package including staff rewards, local market leading holiday allowance
