Areas of work include Public Relations, Corporate Events, Employee Communications, and Buzz Marketing. The team includes professionals with backgrounds in public relations, journalism, social media, writing and buzz marketing.
As Music PR manager in our European communications team, you will be expected to lead and drive strategy, planning and execution of Apple’s PR initiatives for Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV for Europe.
You will be expected to be hands on, working day-to-day to engage with reporters and content creators in crafting stories about Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV that showcase its benefits to consumers. Responsibilities will encompass:
- Crafting and leading results-oriented PR programmes with music, entertainment, lifestyle, technology, national, broadcast and general business press;
- Building new relationships with content creators;
- Partnering with the editorial teams to develop product positioning, messaging and competitive analysis.
The role will require you to travel to France and Germany on a regular basis, actively manage a network of European agencies, be highly organised and able to work under tight deadlines with a keen attention to details. Finally, the role will lead on the publicity around the Apple Music radio stations, their shows and hosts but not Apple TV shows.
Responsibilities
- Use your first-class knowledge of the entertainment, cultural and media landscape in Europe to broaden and deepen our relationships across the board.
- Spot the opportunities that arise from changes in the industry and recommend how we can capitalise on them to improve coverage of our services.
- Dive deep into our segment markets to identify new and creative ways to reach influencing voices and share the Apple story.
- Be the local authority as pertains to PR initiatives for Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV.
- Possess expert knowledge of competitive products and services, and keep the European and global teams up to date on what’s going on in your market.
- Manage and respond to day-to-day media enquiries and ensure our regular contacts are kept up to speed on the latest news.
- Play an instrumental role in influencing how Apple’s PR campaigns are developed to ensure maximum impact in Europe.
- Handle challenging PR situations reactively with grace and ease, knowing when and how to respond to media inquiries.
- Handle development and distribution of PR materials and resources as required.
- Responsible for the successful planning and management of a number of projects, prioritising these to meet critical deadlines delivering work on time and on budget.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in public relations, journalism, PR agency or corporate settings.
- Extensive experience in media relations and working with content creators, and a deep understanding of how people consume news and create opinions across social and classical media.
- Passionate about entertainment, culture, and consumer technology, and enjoy building formal and informal relationship networks with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and detailed project management skills.
- Strong team approach and influencing skills.

- Able to work with ambiguity and on complex topics, skilled in multi-tasking, delivering under tight timelines, adapting quickly to change.
