Company & Project: A Top 50 Main contractor is seeking to recruit a talented and experienced Mechanical Manager, to join their team in leading the MEP function across multiple projects, specialising in the early stages through pre‑construction to project commencement. The focus is on new business and managing the pre‑construction phase to ensure technical compliance, commercial viability, and risk mitigation. Our client has an enviable track record on projects c 50m+ and have delivered projects on a repeat basis in London and the South.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP technical input for tenders, providing robust bid management, cost‑certainty analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee the relationship between external MEP consultants and internal BIM coordinators to ensure fully integrated and buildable designs.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key customers and design consultants to ensure mutually beneficial project outcomes.
  • Identify and implement technical efficiencies to improve margins while ensuring full adherence to specifications.
  • Ensuring health, safety, and environmental considerations are integrated into the design and programme from the outset.

Qualifications

  • 10 years+ experience within a UK main contractor or major MEP subcontractor environment.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Mechanical building services and the integration of multidisciplinary MEP packages.
  • Proven ability to manage the front‑end lifecycle, including tendering, design coordination, and BIM workflows.
  • Previous Roles: Building Services Manager OR Electrical Manager OR Senior M&E Supervisor OR M&E Manager OR M&E Engineer OR M&E Project Manager.
  • Relevant Mechanical or Building Services qualification for example, HND or Degree or City & Guilds.

Salary c 90k- 100k basic plus competitive package inc car or allowance, mileage to site, pension, health, bonus etc.
