A successful Tier 1 Main Contractor with a stable pipeline of secured projects across Suffolk has an opportunity to hire a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a key project valued at over £70m.
The company seeks a candidate with experience managing others and who is ready to take a decisive step in their career.
Senior QS candidates seeking a step up or proven Managing QS candidates are welcome to apply.
Projects in the area range from c£30m‑£100m in single value in the Education, Healthcare, Life Science and Defence sectors.
Previous experience leading projects over £50m in single value is essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work across all commercial management functions on a large project, overseeing a small team of Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors.
- Produce CVRs, manage team workload, submit applications for payments from sub‑contractors, variations, and prepare final accounts.
- Report at a senior level to directors and contribute to the growth of the region.
- Have experience working in pre‑construction within PCSA stage and on 2‑stage tenders.
Desirable Experience
- Minimum 5 years as a Senior or Managing QS on new build projects c£50m+.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience on 2‑stage projects.
- Previous roles: Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing QS, Commercial Manager, Lead Quantity Surveyor, Principal Quantity Surveyor, or Project Surveyor.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or MSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a comparable qualification.
