Apple is looking for a Strategic Business Development Manager to help improve existing payment services and drive new payment initiatives for Apple's digital merchants. As our ideal candidate, you enjoy a high-change environment that is focused on building the next generation of payment experiences for Apple's digital merchants. This role will help the business to navigate, successfully implement and support Apple's payments strategy in Europe. Creativity, persistence and the ability to collaborate are crucial to the success in this role.

Description

  • Be the regional "go to" person for payments matters and execution with payment partners in Europe.
  • Stay appraised of changing payments landscape to ensure that the global strategy is modified to meet local needs and opportunities.
  • Monitor overall payment performance and identify opportunities for improvements, through internal collaboration or external partners’ engagement.
  • Establish, and develop strong relationships with payment providers and banks’ risk and payment experts.
  • Contribute to the definition of Apple product strategy anticipating EU product needs and opportunities.
  • Support new product go-to-market strategies across Europe, ensuring seamless and successful launches.
  • Manage local projects from initiation to completion while providing consistent updates and communication to business leaders.
  • Understand and anticipate payment regulatory impacts, with associated action plans to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Identify and develop mid to long term opportunities to improve the way our customers pay.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of EU and UK payment landscape.
  • Significant experience at building and maintaining relationships with payment partners: payment providers, banks, international or domestic payment networks.
  • Experience driving 3DS and/or card payments performance improvements through analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in business development, focusing on designing business models and launching new payment methods and services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of payments regulations and their practical impact on digital and physical merchants.
  • Some experience interacting and influencing regulatory bodies.
  • Experience conducting payment conversion analysis to identify trends and optimise conversion.
  • Some familiarity with risk management and fraud prevention principles.
  • Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, constantly evolving work environment.
  • Fluency in one or more European languages.
  • Degree education in relevant field desirable but candidates from all education backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Fluency in English and one or more additional languages strongly desired.
