We are Applause, a fast-growing digital experience company, helping enterprise and Fortune 500 companies deliver great user experiences through our UX research and functional testing solutions.

Our UX Research team conducts both generative and evaluative studies (e.g., remote moderated user studies, 1:1 interviews, surveys, diary studies, etc.). As our team grows, more and more businesses based in the United States are working with us to learn from their users around the world.

We are growing our team outside of the United States and are looking for people to join us as a freelance User Experience (UX) Researcher. We want to learn from you: What is it that users in your area want and expect from a product or a service?

Summary:

  • Role: UX Researcher
  • Level: Mid-Senior
  • Location: UK-based remote
  • Capacity: Freelance - project variable, demand-based hours
  • Duration: Long term, open-ended

What we are looking for:

  • Experience conducting qualitative research such as ethnographic research, diary studies, longitudinal studies, contextual inquiries, qualitative surveys, interviews, moderated usability studies, etc.
  • Strong capability conducting interviews
  • In-depth knowledge of culture, traditions, and technology
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree, preferably a degree in anthropology, sociology, psychology, qualitative research, Human Computer Interaction, or a similar field.

A plus but not required:

  • Experience analyzing quantitative data
  • Knowledge of design principles, UX design experience, and/or service design experience
  • Previous experience working in an agency setting or in UX research consulting
