Full Stack Developer - TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js
Location: Near Leamington Spa, Warwickshire (Hybrid - 3 days on site)
Job type: Permanent, Full-time
We're hiring a Full Stack Developer for an established, growing UK software company whose design and manufacturing software is used by creative businesses worldwide. You'll work across the whole stack on a production customer platform, with code review on every change and a clear path to becoming its lead developer.
About the role
Alongside its desktop products, the business runs a growing set of web services: customer accounts, licensing, subscriptions and cloud compute. You'll focus on the customer account and licensing platform, built with Next.js, NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and AWS.
You'll start on well-scoped features and take on more ownership as your experience grows. You'll get technical mentoring from the Infrastructure Tech Lead and work with the desktop software team and experienced external development and QA partners. As the platform grows, you'll also contribute to backend compute and AI services and help rebuild the company website.
What you'll be doing
- Building features across the Next.js front end and NestJS API
- Designing and evolving the PostgreSQL schema, including migrations and query performance
- Building APIs used by the company's desktop applications
- Deploying and monitoring services on AWS, with a focus on reliability, security and cost
- Writing automated tests and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Handling customer and account data securely and in line with GDPR
What you'll bring
- React, with some exposure to Next.js
- Back-end development in Node.js, building REST APIs (NestJS, Express or similar)
- SQL and relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- Git, and a habit of writing tests
Nice to have
- NestJS or Next.js in production
- AWS (ECS/Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront), Terraform or Docker
- Integrating AI models, or some Python
- OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, Stripe or licensing systems
- Interest in CAD/CAM or design software
What's on offer
- 8% contributory pension and private healthcare
- 25 days' holiday + bank holidays, plus additional time off at Christmas
- Hybrid working: 3 days on site, 2 from home
- A clear progression path to lead developer on a production platform
