Senior IT Database and Web Platform Engineer – 6-Month FTC
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid – up to 40% remote)
Are you an experienced Senior IT Database and Web Platform Engineer looking for your next challenge? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading global organisation, supporting enterprise-level database, web, and SharePoint environments.
You will provide third-line support for critical systems, managing SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure services, web applications, and identity management infrastructure. Working in a dynamic team, you’ll ensure system availability, performance optimisation, and deliver key upgrades and deployments.
Responsibilities
- Provide third-line support for database, web, and SharePoint platforms.
- Manage SQL Server estate, SharePoint environments, and Azure cloud services.
- Deliver code releases, platform upgrades, and deployments.
- Optimise server performance and ensure systems are kept up to date.
- Lead on troubleshooting escalated technical issues and root cause analysis.
- Act as a technical lead, coaching junior team members and supporting wider business projects.
Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint, and Azure cloud services.
- Knowledge of web application infrastructure, SSO, MFA, and identity management.
- Proven experience in system architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Project management skills and ability to lead on deployments and upgrades.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
